The Opportunity
How long does it take to become profitable?
Typically 6 to 12 months, depending on your overheads and how consistently you sell. Because fixed costs stay low, profitability tends to come faster than in most traditional franchise models.
What sales trajectory can you build?
It varies, but as one real example: in his own business, Rich grew from roughly £120k in year one to £250k, then £360k, £480k, and over £1m by year five. It came from consistency and sharper focus over time — and individual results will differ.
The Model & Your Freedom
How flexible is the model?
Very. You choose your target market, your daily activity, your service mix and your pricing above wholesale. SCG handles the technical and commercial heavy lifting while you build your own book.
What can partners sell?
Four pillars: mobile and IoT, telephony (including Teams and Evonex), connectivity from broadband to high-capacity leased lines, and cyber security backed by specialist support.
Who is the ideal customer?
Anyone from a single user to a large estate, with a sweet spot around owner-managed businesses of 5 to 100 users — where decisions are quick and relationships build fast.
What would you do differently if starting again?
Niche earlier. Instead of chasing everything, focus on one geography or sector where you can get known quickly and build repeatable momentum.
What It Costs to Start
What does it cost to get started?
You can start from around £900 for core setup, covering your own living and travel costs through the first phase while your pipeline builds.
What are the typical running costs?
Mostly the usual business basics — phone, travel and fuel, a home-office setup, networking and lead generation. You decide what you spend, so it is easy to stay lean.
Are there ongoing fees or revenue share?
It is a shared-margin model. For example, a £100 billing line at a 40% margin is £40 of profit — £20 to you and £20 to SCG, with SCG covering billing and core support.
The Support Behind You
What training will I get?
Plenty: online foundations across mobile, telephony and cyber, plus in-person support, mentoring and regular weekly calls to keep you developing.
Who delivers once a deal closes?
It is consultative and partner-led. You own the relationship and discovery, and SCG steps in on design, provisioning and long-term support — so customers are looked after from onboarding through to renewal.
Will I have an account manager or mentor?
Both: dedicated account-management support plus mentor-level access for strategy, client handling, solution support and day-to-day deals.
What marketing support is there?
Ready-to-use case studies, videos and collateral, plus the pull of an established brand with a strong Trustpilot reputation and real sector credibility.
Winning Customers
Will SCG provide leads?
Lead generation is mainly partner-led, with SCG supporting on routes-to-market and niche planning. There are occasional bought-in leads, but the best results come from building your own repeatable pipeline.
Are there sales targets?
No mandatory monthly quotas to keep your partner status. The focus is accountability and coaching, so you stay active and keep progressing — without arbitrary pressure.
